Urban Buzz Factor: Motivated in Miami: Meet Hip-Hop’s Newest Star, T-Ro

TRO

Miami, FL – If there’s one word that comes to mind when one thinks of Terrence Rollins (better known on stage as “T-Ro”) it’s motivated. The south Florida native began his career with music on a dare. A friend bet him that he couldn’t write a song and T-Ro, never one to back down from a challenge, took him up on the bet only to discover not only did he enjoy writing music, but he also had a knack for storytelling that would make waves in Miami. Now, the up and coming hip hop star is ready to make a name for himself across the country and world, and has already found success opening for artists like Kendrick Lamar, Nipsey Hussel, Meek Mill, 2Chainz, Dj Khalid, Trey Songs, Rico Love, Young Thug, Kodak Black, Ace Hood, and Future.

His biggest musical influence is hip hop icon and business mogul Jay Z, whose brand has raked in billions and created a massive sphere of influence across the globe. “His career is about more than just music,” explains T-Ro of his inspiration in Jay Z, “I admire him as a brand, and the way he carries himself.” Taking a page out of Jay Z’s book, the entrepreneur-meets-musician is also behind a clothing brand, www.goldcigargang.com, which can be found online and in local Miami clothing stores. His efforts are all apart of a movement, a desire to brand himself as an artist and beyond.

In a music market saturated with trap, T-Ro offers something unique for hip hop purists who appreciate the art of the story. “I tell stories about my life and what I’ve been through,” says the artist, whose persistence is what has helped him overcome many obstacles. “It takes a lot of hard work to be remembered, so I have to prove myself,” he continues.

His latest project, “Good Isn’t Good Enough” was released on MyMixtapez on February 28th and has garnered the attention of many, topping over 33k hits on the music platform alone. A single off the project, entitled “Tax” (a collaboration with Tory Lanez) is also taking off. The song chronicles the hustle, the tenacity that T-Ro possesses in life and music. “I’m trying to be remembered,” says T-Ro, “I’m not just trying to be a number.” One thing is for certain: With T-Ro’s persistence and star quality, he’s bound to be topping charts for years to come.
