Give us some background info as to who you are.
Everything started in Brazil, when I was 17 I met a Dj who was looking for a singer to put on his record, but he didn’t have any lyrics just the song. So I wrote it and we released my first single calling “Feelin’ The Love”. The people liked it and the Djs started sharing the song all over the country and internationally. After that I started performing shows all over Brazil.
There has been many Brazilian artists trying to establish themselves in America but you are the first Brazilian artist to be on MTV USA, major radio stations and media publications. How have you been able to be so successful in America?
Yes, so many artists in Brazil dream about making in America and God has truly blessed me and surrounded me with a great label Concore Entertainment and manager Charve The Don.
What’s been Brazil’s reaction to your success in America?
They haven’t really supported me at all. I think it’s because they have a few other artists that Brazil thought they would be in this position and I’m not a part of that circle.
Your video Magic is #1 most popular video on VH1 and #1 most shared on MTV in the last 30 days. How do you feel about that?
I feel very thankful that people are hearing my music and it’s so widely accepted. I want to make the best songs and the most honest songs possible.
How does it feel to beat out Taylor Swift, Fifth Harmony, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith on VH1 most popular videos?
Wow! To be ahead of Taylor Swift in anything is amazing. She’s such a great artist. I truly admire her.
What artists are your biggest influences?
My biggest influences in terms of artists include Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, Madonna, Selena, Prince and Mariah Carey.
What single or project are you currently pushing?
My new single is called “Magic.” I’m very excited about it. It’s available now on iTunes. We shared it on Soundcloud and in the first day we had 40k plays! “Magic” is about a relationship where you are confused and you kind of find yourself losing who you are. It’s like you are in an unhealthy relationship that you know it’s bad for you but you won’t leave it because you love that person.
What is your USP? (Unique Selling Proposition) and what sets you apart from other artists?
My unique selling proposition involves the fact that I try to make my fans feel all my emotions through my music and during my shows. I am a passionate artist. I bring to them an energy they have never felt before. The most important thing is that I have a big purpose with my music. My songs could change somebody’s life. My mission is to inspire people to believe that they can dream and that their dreams can become reality!
