Every facet of Supreme’s music has something original to communicate to the listener.
Ponder the beat-building and the melody constructs – all the instrumental DJ elements that contribute to Supreme’s hooks. Consider the crisp lyricism, lean muscle that wastes no words in forming the smart sidewalk poetry, every syllable punctuating just the right rhythm, striking just the right meaning. Hear Supreme’s dead-on delivery, the cataclysmic cadence of those words, tattooing a gripping groove complemented perfectly by back-up of the beats.
Beyond even the verbal and musical construct itself are the solid ideas, the wellspring of creativity from which everything that is Supreme finds voice. Current stars ought to look out below as this skyrocketing up-and-comer blasts through the industry hierarchy.
Ground zero may be the underground but the fire is a mushroom cloud heating up the stratosphere.
Just as Supreme’s distinctiveness spreads across all aspects of his music, so his music addresses every angle of the listening experience.The physical, mental and spiritual are a unified whole and Supreme’s well-rounded hip-hop confronts that reality.
“My philosophy is to give the masses raw, adrenaline-driven, intelligent street music,” Supreme declares.
Supreme’s indie world creds have already grabbed attention, thanks to scorching appearances on such releases as the recent Heltah Skeltah LP “D.I.R.T.” (Duckdown Records) and the “Bucktown LP” – which features legendary Brooklyn MCs like Steele of Smif-N-Wessun, Rock & Ruck of Heltah Skeltah, Ug from The Cellar Dwellars, Blahzay Blahzay, Shabaam Shadiq and Smooth The Hustlah (just to name a few). He is also involved in the Bucktown Project.
Supreme will be jack hammering the streets with a hot-as-hell Single and a full length LP due out in Summer 2009.
All this effort and energy boils down to one pressing goal: The music.
“Music is my life,” says Supreme. “I put my heart and soul and dedicate every aspect of my being to writing, producing, recording and performing music.”
